There has definitely been an increase to the number of internet stores that have branched into selling Jewelry online lately. And the truth is, it can be hard to tell who you can trust because you are not given the opportunity to hold the Jewelry before buying it. So here are some simple tips to help you on your spree.

Gold comes in different karats, for example it comes in 14, 18 and 24 karats. Try to avoid terms like, gold filled or gold plated if you are looking to buy real gold. On the other hand, a carat is the measure of a diamond’s weight, though it is often confused with size. One carat is equivalent to 200 milligrams. Am I sounding too technical yet? Hopefully not.

Buying Diamonds

When shopping for a diamond ring, one quality that you should always look at is the diamond carats. The larger the diamond, the more weight it carries. For engagement rings, the carats are usually more than that of an everyday use ring. And the more carats equals to the more you have to pay for it. Quality isn’t cheap unless you know where to go online. But we will talk about that another time. When buying your expensive or inexpensive jewelry online, especially diamonds, If you have questions, feel free to ask the store. I am sure they will be more than willing to give you that information. Because carats are the measurements of the weight rather than the size, two stones with the same identical carat weights may actually appear very different depending on their exact geometry, proportions, and shape. And remember Diamonds may be round brilliant, oval, tiffany, marquise, pear-shaped, heart-shaped, emerald cut, princess cut, trilliant, radiant, or cushion cut. Each one has its own uniqueness. Pick the one you like the most.

Buying fine jewelry online takes a little responsibility on your part.” If a site has Paypal checking, that’s one way you can protect yourself, sales from Paypal are easier to dispute incase it ever comes to that. And also make sure you read their return policy and take notice of their willingness to get to know you.

In closing “Knowing if the gold is genuine will also tell a little about the included stones. Many fake stones will not be set on real solid gold, only on gold plated or gold-filled jewelry, because it would be a complete waste. And also “Read all the jewelry descriptions carefully. How to Clean Silver Jewelry

365.245 How to Clean Silver Jewelry is a question that most jewelry owners ask, so I have decided to give you a quick way of doing this at home. Silver Jewelry can become blemished with time, thereby becoming dull and unattractive. There are a lot of methods out there to reverse these effects but not everyone can be done in your house. This method uses only the things that should already be at your home.

What you’ll need:

* Aluminum foil
* Pot of water
* Baking Soda
* Pan

Take the pot of water and place it on a stove to begin boiling.
Use this time to cover the pan with aluminum foil
Take the baking soda and sprinkle it on the aluminum foil, be as generous as possible (If your jewelry is extremely tarnished, make a paste of hot water and baking soda and use it to pre-treat it before continuing)
Now simply place the jewelry on the aluminum foil
Take the water which should be be boiling at this time and pour it on top of the jewelry mixed with baking soda
Let it sit for 6 minutes
After it has sat, remove your jewelry and rinse it under cool water, dry it up with a towel and at this time it should be very shiny. :)

I know I was MIA for a while there; the reason been I was undercover, working for the inexpensive jewelry police, trying to find the best deals for my online Jewelry pals.
